The tree of love, Sussex, 2017
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
The candles, the red roses, the box of chocolates, the bubbly, the steak dinner, the Best of Barry White (now that’ll show my age 🤪)…
Nah, scrap this, I’m not here to talk to you about all this stuff. What, did you say ‘Phew!’?
I’m here to talk to you about the care and attention, and yes, the love that you give to your business and your brand.
If like me you agree that everything is energy, then your business, and your brand, are to be seen as energetic entities in their own right.
And the relationship you have with your business and your brand will have a huge bearing on their success, and of course, yours.
It is said that love is the highest frequency that is, whereas fear, guilt, jealousy are these low, heavy, holding you back energies.
And even if you don’t buy into this kind of thinking, there’s a merit in looking after your business and your brand properly.
Have a look at some ways to do that and pick at least one that resonates with you:
💚 Carry out regular business reviews. Depending on your style of working, you may want to do this monthly, quarterly, or just twice a year. Carve some time in your diary to review how your business has fared since the last review, or since you set up goals. Celebrate, take stock, reflect, adjust, re-align, re-engage.
💚 Protect your assets. Yes, I’ll say it again, your brand is one of your biggest and most valuable assets. Yet it is amazing how few brands are actually protected. The trademark registration process is not that complex, even if at first sight you may feel intimidated. I can help you with that, as I registered my brand Holisto® . Book a call with me if you want to discuss further.
💚 Look after yourself. You are your business, the success and sustainability of your business depend on your own health and wellbeing - physical, mental, emotional, spiritual. Give yourself permission to take time OUT of your business to be at your best when you are IN your business.
Find activities that uplift you, energise you, make you happy. Banish the words ‘I ought, I should, I must, I have to’ out of your vocabulary and practise self love, every day - even for a few minutes.
💚 Invest in your business. Try to look at some expenses in a different way. Rather than sunken costs, see things like having a coach or taking part in a coaching programme as a wise investment, that will - if you do the work that is - help you and your business perform at a higher level than you are currently. I did invest in a coaching programme last year and I can honestly say that I have learned a lot about myself, my blind spots and resistance to some surprising things!
💚 Invest in your brand. Don’t look at it as a logo and a strap line, something you get sorted in the early days of your business and never return to because of ‘job done’. Your brand is like you and your business, it evolves. You are not the same person as you were 3 years ago, your business isn’t the same as it was 3 years ago, so why would you think that your brand is still the same??
There are a few things you can do for your brand, with my help:
